HOW TO BECOME A GENIUS IN 5 STEPS

3:42 AM 1 Comment

If you want to follow through on who you are, to unlock your own genius, and to live the life others say you shouldn’t or won’t succeed at, here’s 5 steps to proving them wrong and your faith in yourself so very right.

1. Ignore the bores

As soon as you declare that you want to explore something different (you don’t have to know exactly what at this point), the negative voices will chirp up offering their ten cents worth. The bores with big mouths.

They will swear blind that they are trying to stop you from doing something you will regret. They will try and brainwash you persuading you to stay with your (boring) reliable job and pay check. They will try to scare you by inventing all manner of fearful scenarios on what can go wrong.

And they will do so because they’ve not go the belief and confidence you have and are too sacred to be anything other than an Admin Clerk or Customer Service Manager. Ignore those words that stop you being happy. The only voice you need to listen to is the one inside of you saying…’Go!’

2. Abandon convention

A genius doesn’t follow the conventional view of life. They don’t automatically join the line of society to be fed what the mass opinion is. They are happy to go out on a limblike Shirley MacLaine, to sing their own song and bang their own drum.
The very defintion of being a genius sets you apart in some way from the mass world. To discover that it’s sane to abandon custom and tradition and follow instead the road less travelled where you leave foosteps behind for others to follow. Like Eratostheneswho first said the world was round. Mad eh?
Lead – don’t follow. That’s what sheep do.

3. Trust intuition

A genius doesn’t look up a book or click on the internet for their source of inspiration. Nor seek validation or being ‘one of the gang’. They already have it within them. Their intuition. It just requires accessing because almost very single person who did, created, or became something remarkable, used intuition at some point.

Logic never supports true brilliance. The mind is limited by design so cannot fully awaken amazing ideas and concepts by itself. There needs to be another spark. And that’s intuition.

If you sense what is right then follow it. If lightbulbs flash off with insights let them shine. If you feel you know the right thing to do, even though that doesn’t seem rational, explore it. It’s most probably the correct action. Trust your intuition.
Your intuition is your genius compass that points the way when you can’t see it.

4. Go crazy.

A man once said that he had a vision of, ‘a computer on every desk in every home around the world‘ at a time when computers were thought to be only for huge corporations and that the technology could not exist to make them any smaller. Arise Bill Gates.

In 1962 President John F. Kennedy committed the USA to landing on the moon by the end of the decade even though most scientists declared it impossible. It took over 1,000 new inventions and processes but Neil Armstrong did that seven year later.

More amazingly is that Neil Armstrong himself declared in a college class that one day he would be the first man to fly to and land on the moon. The year was 1948!
Predictably his teacher told him to wise up or he’d end up on skid row (seems to be a theme doesn’t it?)

To them ‘what if?’ became ‘when will?’ Do the same – be a bit whacko, go crazy and get crazy results!

5. Tomorrow is today

All geniuses constantly visualise and live in a future they are creating. They already see it, feel it, touch it and reside in it. To them it’s as natural as you thinking about what you are going to wear today.
They activate the future by making it today and drawing into their orbit all the neccessary energy, people, activities, finances, opportunities, and actions that make their vision a pure reality. Just like magic!

Genius starts and ends with this skill. Make everything real NOW and continue to hold fast that it is so even if the landscape may not equate sometimes to it.  To know deep down with conviction that something will come about possibly through your own hands or work is akin to where Einstein saw Relativity and E=MC2.
Other so called eminent people saw nothing or only mathematics on a blackboard. Einstein took Relativity that had flowered in his mind and introduced people to it via his genius in a simple equation.  You can do the same – you are a genius of the future living today.

There are countless stories of human genius cast to the wayside by another person’s lack of ambition or poor spirit:
·        Beethoven’s teacher (another one!) told him he was “hopeless as a composer”.
·        Roger Bannister was advised his lungs would burst and he would die if he attempted to break the 4 minute mile.
·        Decca Records turned down the Beatles with these immortal words; ‘We don’t like their sound. Guitar groups are on their way out’.
·        Freud was booed off the podium when he first presented his opinions to colleagues.
·        Every cartoon Charles Schultz submitted as a young man was rejected and Walt Disney wouldn’t hire him.
·        And Walt Disney himself was fired by a newspaper editor as he “lacked imagination and had no good ideas”.
Genius is in your hands and your own spirit not in the viewpoints and opinions of others. People who never followed a dream or believed in them. People who would have stopped Edison, Henry Ford, or Marie Curie through their own low outlook. GO!!!

Every single person has a genius within them should they choose to let it out.

Most don’t.

What about you?

Be crazy, live the future, abandon normality, trust your intuition and forget those with cobwebs around them.

Your genius awaits. The genius that you are.
What’s it to be? Are you going to activate your genius? What do you dream of or want to make happen? Tell me how could be Neil Armstrong in 1948 today!

THE KIND OF PRAYER THAT GOD HONORS THE MOST

11:41 PM 2 Comments
Every Christian would like to have a more fruitful prayer life.  There’s no doubt that God desires that Christians have more fruitful prayer lives.  Yet there are times when we’ve prayed, locked in our faith, and the end result was not what we were praying and believing for.  Does God delight in keeping Christians confused (and frustrated) regarding their prayer lives?ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Notice:  God exhorts Christians to pray frequently:

Pray without ceasing. (1 Thess. 5:17)

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,  (Ephesians 6:18)

I’ve bolded and highlighted “in the Spirit” because it is CRUCIAL that we understand what God is communicating to us regarding praying “in the Spirit”.

Praying “in the Spirit” means: Praying as the Holy Spirit specifically leads … in any given situation.  (It encompasses 1 Corinthians 14:14-15).

Inquiring FIRST of God in how we're to pray and believe about a given matter is praying “in the Spirit”.  It is the wisdom of going to the Creator in prayer and simply asking, “Father – here’s the situation I’m dealing with.  You already know what my will is in this matter, but I want to remove my own will in this matter and I want ONLY what You determine to be best regarding this situation.  Please give me peace – give me clear direction - about how I’m to pray to You about this matter, and how I’m to believe.  And help me be patient in all this, as I wait on You."

Inquiring FIRST of God before we pray and begin believing about a certain matter is a clear demonstration on our part that we desire to honor God.  If you’ve not thought much about it lately … God DEMANDS to be honored.  God might will the very thing to happen that you would like Him to do, yet purposely not allow it to come about, simply because no honor wasFIRST given Him in the situation.

Many a Christian has sought God for a healing, but never got that healing, simply because time wasn’t taken to honor God by FIRST inquiring of God about what He thinks about the matter.

Assumption and presumption are two critical reasons why our prayers are often not answered the way we would like.   To keep from having our prayers and confidence sabotaged, we need to be extremely wise.  Taking the time to inquire FIRST of the Lord about how we’re to pray about a given matter pays huge dividends!  God does not want us praying amiss!  Praying amiss only chips away at our future confidence in God in our prayer lives, and if there is one thing Satan absolutely loves is Christians continually praying amiss.  Praying amiss (which usually means praying selfishly and/or presumptively) will rob your future confidence in believing God to answer your prayers like little else will!

There is a huge line drawn in the spiritual dimension between FAITH and HOPE when it comes to answered prayer.  Hope doesn't get many prayers answers.  Trust is what moves God to answer our prayers when we pray prayers in accordance with God's will.  Active - persistent trust is probably the second most important key to gaining and sustaining a vibrant prayer life.  What is the number one most important key (which includes persistent trust, by the way)?  To be walking in obedience to all the commands of the New Testament Bible.  That means that if we have on-going sin in our life, God tends to not grant favor in our prayer lives.  It is God's nature to reward obedience in His people, and withhold favor when we are disobedient ... with one exception.  We can pray for the salvation of a lost soul if we're in gross sin and God will STILL use our prayer, somehow - someway.  God's concern for loss souls is His top agenda.

A common experience happens every day around this planet.  A Christian is stricken with physical ailments, and loved ones are praying and trusting that God is going to heal that person.  Perfectly fine … if that is CLEARLY what the Holy Spirit imparted to do in the situation by FIRST inquiring of Him.  But what if God has plans for that person in heaven?  Are we able to release that person and let God’s BEST unfold in that’s person’s life?  Can we get past our pain of having a loved one depart this sin-sick-saturated world and enjoy the joys (and possibly assignments) awaiting that person in heaven?

Not one of us know exactly what is best for another person, (nor ourselves, for that matter) UNTIL we first give God an opportunity to reveal His thoughts to us regarding that person and the situation that is confronting them.

Of course, God is not obligated to reveal to us anything about a given situation if He determines that to be the wisest option.  But God will always think well of us in our FIRST inquiring of Him about the matter because again … we have purposed to honor God.

You can quote key scripture passages to yourself, God and others about a given matter and lock in your faith in standing on those key scripture passages … yet not see happen what you’re believing will happen, if you are guilty of not honoring God FIRST in the matter.  God DEMANDS to be honored.  He DELIGHTS in being consulted FIRST about every given matter we are faced with in this life.

To be given honor, we must continually sow honor FIRST.  "Give, and it shall be given unto you."

This I am fully persuaded of.  The more we seek God in ways to honor Him in our prayer lives, the more fruitful our prayers will be.

7 WAYS TO IMPRESS PEOPLE IN 60 SECOND OR LESS

11:17 PM Add Comment
No matter what income level they've achieved, some people still don't have a clue as to how to draw others to them. They don't know what to say to put others at ease or how to act in order to electrify a room. But by the time you reach 50, you should know a thing or two about how to impress those around you. People can tell when you feel comfortable in your own skin. And when you feel comfortable in your own skin, you'll give others the confidence they need to be themselves as well. And that's pretty impressive.
Famous folks usually included on lists of the world's most impressive people include Hillary Clinton, Taylor Swift and Chris Christie. What do they have in common? All are smart and supremely self-confident.
After consulting with a few very impressive friends, here are seven ways to wow people in 60 seconds or less. Have your own ideas? Tell us about them in comments.
1. Treat your spouse well.
Few things impress me LESS than someone who talks poorly about their spouse (or children for that matter). Marital fidelity/loyalty is becoming increasingly rare, especially among my 50-something friends. Those who stay faithful to their partner -- and who also don't cut them down -- impress me. And certainly they impress their spouses as well. So take your partner's hand, or say something nice about them.

2. Look people in the eye
If you can hold someone's gaze, you are more likely to connect with them on a personal level. If someone can't look me in the eye, I tend to think they are either hiding something or are simply not very confident about what they have to say. I'm impressed when people have the confidence to really focus on me.

3. Give compliments freely to those who deserve it
I have a friend who always -- without fail -- says something nice to me as soon as she sees me. It's always something simple like "I love those earrings" but it always makes me feel good and it always makes me want to be around her. People may not always remember what you say, but they will remember how it feels to be around you. Obviously, don't overdo it. But a simple, genuine compliment goes a long way.

4. Do what you say you're going to do
I have another friend who, if she says she's going to meet you at 7 p.m., she's going to meet you at 7 p.m. and not a minute after. I have other friends who are habitually late or who make promises they can never deliver on. I'd rather have a friend tell me "no" than to tell me "maybe" and then renege on me later on. Be reliable and people will respect you for it.

5. Stand up for your beliefs in a respectful, intelligent manner
There are few things more impressive to me than someone who doesn't shy away from standing up for their beliefs -- and then who can back up what they say with intelligent research while also keeping an open mind and listening to what others have to interject. By the time you're 50, you should definitely have a pretty clear idea of where you stand on issues. Impress people by speaking out without sounding arrogant (proud or overconfident)

6. Ask about a person's kid or grandkid
I'm always impressed when someone remembers something pertaining to one of my three kids. When someone asks me about, say, my daughter's audition for the lead in the school play, it shows me they are paying attention to what's going on in my life. And that's very impressive.

7. Know what's going on in the world
Even those who have a cursory knowledge of current events are impressive. (And this doesn't just mean knowing who won "Dancing With The Stars" the night before.) If you don't have a lot of time, try at least scanning the headlines or catching up on the news during the weekend.

6 SIMPLE STEPS TO ACTIVATE YOUR BODY’S SELF-REPAIR MECHANISMS

12:12 AM 2 Comments

You don’t have to be at the mercy of your stress responses. She said Lisa; as I teach in my new book Mind Over Medicine: Scientific Proof That You Can Heal Yourself, you can be proactive about activating your body’s natural self-healing. Try these scientifically-proven steps as a health prevention strategy or as treatment for any health condition you might be battling.

Step 1: Believe You Can Heal Yourself
Don’t believe that positive belief can cure the body? Think again! The medical establishment has been proving that the mind can cure the body for over 50 years. We call it “the placebo effect,” and it has been proven to cause resolution of symptoms- and real physiological change — in 18-80% of the patients in clinical trials who are treated with nothing more than sugar pills, saline injections, or fake surgeries.
As long as you believe your condition is “incurable” or “chronic,” it will be. Don’t believe your health condition could possibly resolve? Check out the Spontaneous Remission Project, a compilation of over 3,500 case studies proving that spontaneous remission has been reported for just about every illness out there- Stage 4 cancers, HIV, diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, autoimmune diseases, even an untreated gunshot wound to the head!
For my skeptical physician mind, reading through all these case studies was a paradigm shift. It’s kind of like the story of the 4-minute mile. Exercise physiologists used to think the body was physiologically incapable of running a mile in less than 4 minutes — and so no athlete ever did it. Then in 1954, Roger Bannister ran a mile in three minutes and fifty-nine seconds. Once that limiting belief was shattered, virtually every athlete that competes in a world-class event has run the mile in under four minutes. Today’s world-record time for the mile is 3:43:15, more than 15 seconds under 4 minutes.
What if your belief that the body can’t heal itself is like the 4-minute mile? For some mind-blowing stories about how positive belief can radically affect your health, watch TEDx talk Is There Scientific Proof That You Can Heal Yourself?.
Scientific data proves that once you believe healing is possible, it can be. So what do you believe?
Step 2: Find The Right Support
To say that you can heal yourself is sort of a misnomer because the scientific data proves that, equally essential to positive belief is the nurturing care of a true healer, someone optimistic who shares your positive belief, includes you in true partnership, respects your intuition, cares for your wellbeing, and ensures you that you won’t be alone on your self-healing journey.
Do you have the right healers on your health care team?
Step Three: Listen To Your Body & Your Intuition
Nobody knows your body better than you, not even a doctor. We doctors may know the arteries of the leg or the anatomy of your organs better than you, but you know what’s best for your own body better than anyone else. When my literary agent first read Mind Over Medicine, she said, “Lissa, before I read this book, I honestly thought my body was none of my business. Now I know better.”
Yes! Your body is indeed your business. So listen to your intuition and trust what it tells you.
Not in touch with your intuition? Then listen to your body, which is one vehicle your intuition uses to speak to you. If you have a physical sensation in your body — pain, tightness, nausea, clenching, dizziness — ask your body what it is trying to communicate to you. Then listen up! This is the voice of your inner wisdom and it will always lead you directly to your true north.
Step Four: Diagnose The Root Causes Of Your Illness
Your doctor may give you one kind of diagnosis- migraines or irritable bowel syndrome or breast cancer, for example. But the kind of diagnosis I’m talking about gets at the root of what might have triggered stress responses in your body and deactivated your body’s self-healing mechanisms, thereby making your body vulnerable to illness.
What aspects of your life are activating your stress responses? What relaxation response-inducing activities — like meditation, creative expression, laughter, engaging in work you love, massage, yoga, or playing with animals — have you been neglecting?
Illness is often a wake-up call, forcing us to get down and dirty with what’s really true in our lives. We can either play the victim or we can use illness as an opportunity to awaken.
If you’re struggling with a physical issue, what might lie at the root of it? For more ideas about what might lie at the root of your illness, check out TEDx talk The Shocking Truth About Your Health.

Step Five: Write The Prescription For Yourself
This won’t be the kind of prescription you fill at a pharmacy, though it certainly may include elements of Western medicine. It’s more of a self-guided action plan intended to make your body ripe for optimal health and full recovery.
So ask yourself, “What does my body need in order to heal?” Your Prescription may include diet changes, an exercise regimen, and a conventional medical treatment plan. But it may also include getting out of a toxic relationship, quitting a soul-sucking job, adding a meditation practice, taking steps to get out of debt, or following a passion.
Be as specific as you can. Then muster up the courage to put your plan into action!
Step Six: Surrender Attachment To Outcomes
What if you’ve adopted a positive attitude, found the right healer, tapped into your intuition and your body, diagnosed the root cause of your health condition, written The Prescription for yourself and put it into action- but you’re still sick? Are you doing something wrong? Is it your fault you’re still sick?
Absolutely not — and any talk of guilt, blame, or shame for someone on a healing journey only activates more stress responses and harms the body.
So what’s the deal? This is where the art of surrender comes in. Some patients do everything “right” and spontaneous remission happens. But others are the proverbial choir- and they’re still sick. Why does this happen? Honestly, I don’t know. The only real answer is a spiritual one. Perhaps our souls come here on this earth to learn lessons, and illness can be a spiritual practice, a way to learn our life lessons and a part of our soul’s destiny.
What I can say is that if you’ve followed the 6 steps, you’ve done everything within your power to make your body ripe for miracles — and the rest is out of your hands. So take a deep breath, trust The Universe, surrender attachment to any particular health outcome, and let any health condition you face be an opportunity for spiritual awakening.
